If your tip involves something that could create legal exposure, documents you don't want traced, or a source who needs real protection — use Signal. It's end-to-end encrypted, open source, and run by a nonprofit that stores almost nothing about you. Signal can be subpoenaed, but there's very little to hand over: no message content, no metadata linking you to specific conversations.
